Grant Furlane

President and CEO

Mr. Furlane, co-founder of LocoMobi Inc., has over 30 years of technology experience specializing in the Transportation, Network Security, and Parking industries. Mr. Furlane has invested in business ventures in Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul and Shang Hai starting in 1989. He has been involved in over 500 million dollars in technology investments and was contracted to lead the initiatives of several large public IT companies. Mr. Furlane aggressively built three transportation technology companies that established the vanguard for tracking and monitoring vehicle movement. His companies developed and sold integrated control systems for major airports, hospitals and parking lot management companies.

Below are key achievements for Mr. Furlane:

  • The first supplier to be President of the Canadian Parking Association
  • Served as Co-Chairman of the first World Symposium on Intelligent Transportation Systems, an international symposium attended by delegates representing 50 countries.
  • Invented the first Electronic Credit Card Express kit for machines/kiosks.
  • Built a major PUBLIC Telecom company and sold it to Sprint Canada.
  • Owned or invested in several entertainment assets such as Hard Rock Cafés, Sierra Entertainment and Lightning Sports.
  • Owned the oldest Junior A hockey team, which to date has groomed the most NHL players.
  • Managed assets for several entertainment people including the World Boxing Champion who later partnered in several business ventures.
  • Served as intern Vice- Chairman for Advanced Gravis (one of largest technology success stories in Canada who invented sound board, mouse etc.).
  • Hired by a large investment fund to revitalize the company. Restructured and sold to American Brands (the largest branding company in the World).
  • Executed 10 reorganizations for other major firms in behalf of investment banks.
  • Served as Chairman to the Neurological Hospitals Centers for Ability, and the Board of Governors of Ontario Junior A Hockey, and continues to have investments in the Entertainment and Sports industries.
  • As a result of his successful business experience, his companies’ technological innovation, and his international scope, Mr. Furlane is considered to be one of the leaders in this industry. Mr. Furlane has been married for 30 years, and is proud father to a daughter who graduated in 2012 from The Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University, with a Business Degree and a son who plays Hockey in Boston for Fitchburg State University in the NCAA.

Barney Pell, Ph.D.

Chairman and Chief Strategist

Dr. Pell is the co-founder, Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of LocoMobi Inc. Dr. Pell has a long history as a leading technology innovator, product visionary, entrepreneur and angel investor based in Silicon Valley. He is known for being an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Mayfield, a top Venture Capital firm, which he left to become Founder and CEO of Powerset, which built a natural-language based search engine that read each sentence in Wikipedia and answered user queries in plain English. Microsoft acquired Powerset in 2008 to help create its new search engine, Bing. Dr. Pell then served Microsoft as Search Strategist, Evangelist, and Chief Architect for Local Search at Bing, until leaving Microsoft in September 2011 to return to the start-up world full-time.

Dr. Pell also has active investor, board member, and advisory roles with multiple start-up companies and non-profits across a variety of industries. He is Co-Founder, Vice Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Moon Express, a private company building autonomous robotic lunar landers to enable exploration and commercial development of the solar system. This builds on his earlier career managing advanced software technologies at NASA. Highlights of innovations during Dr. Pell’s career at NASA include mission critical software to support planning and collaboration for the Mars Exploration Rovers mission; Clarissa, the first spoken dialog system in space; and the development of the Remote Agent, the first AI system to fly onboard and control a deep space probe. Remote Agent is widely considered one of the top achievements in the history of Artificial Intelligence and was awarded NASA’s "software of the year" award in 1999. Dr. Pell is also Associate Founder and Trustee of Singularity University (SU), a new university created to educate leaders for life in a future driven by accelerating technological change.

Other recent active angel investments and advisory positions include: Getaround, Robotex, Halcyon Molecular, SpaceX, and CrowdFlower. Recent start-ups that have had successful exits include: Appjet (now Google), Aardvark (now Google), Hot Potato (now Facebook), Etacts (now, Movity (now Trulia), and LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional social network which recently went public after acquiring its hundred-millionth member.

Dr. Pell received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cambridge University, where he was a Marshall Scholar, and his B.S. degree in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was a National Merit Scholar.

Dr. Pell is a frequent speaker at conferences and universities. These include keynote talks at the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, the Association for Computational Linguistics, Search Marketing Expos, International Semantic Web Conference, World Wide Web Conference, the Informational Retrieval Conference, and panels at SXSW Interactive. Dr. Pell has also spoken at the NPA and IPI conferences and has been featured in all major Parking industry magazines.

Roshan Peiris

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Roshan Peiris is a seasoned financial professional and Chief Financial Officer of LocoMobi, bringing over 20 years of experience in his focus on the Company’s accounting and finance activities.

Prior to joining LocoMobi, Roshan worked in senior management roles at Discount Car and Truck Rentals Ltd, Roof Mart – IKO Industries, Budget Car and Truck Rentals and the Canadian Football League. His extensive experience includes multi-location based financial reporting, franchise operations, risk management, relationship management with banks and other lenders, audit, and business planning. His key accomplishments include new division set up, large-scale system conversions, increasing profits, and business process reengineering.

Mr. Peiris holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree specializing in Accounting and is a designated member of Certified Professional Accountants of Ontario.

Matthew Lazowski

Executive Vice President

Mr. Matthew Lazowski is Executive Vice President of LocoMobi. Matthew focuses on driving sales, promotes high-level customer interactions, creates strategic alliances and assists CEO and President in general operations. Matthew’s team delivers the LocoMobi Transportation Solution, an innovative, interactive, end-to-end cloud-based transportation platform. He directs sales with a deep understanding of the parking industry, experienced in all aspects of parking, access, and revenue control system designs.

He has 17 years of direct involvement in the industry decorated by a track record of success, leading projects from inception to implementation. He has deployed cutting edge technology for all vertical markets including: Airports, Hospitals, Hospitality, University, Municipal, Mixed-Use, Residential, and Commercial properties. Prior to joining LocoMobi, he was President of Ultimate Systems Solutions, a systems integrator in New England specializing in a major manufacturer of parking control systems. Previously, Matthew acted as Regional Manager for a Mid-Atlantic region parking systems integrator. In this capacity, he established the Company’s regional office and grew it to a dominant operation.

Matthew serves on the New England Parking Council (NEPC) Board and has been involved with numerous other industry organizations such as the Mid-Atlantic Parking Association (MAPA) where he served as a Board Member for over 6 years. At MAPA, he assisted in instituting MAPA’s new vision to be a regional resource for the Parking Industry. Matthew has also served on two National Parking Association committees, specifically the PII Scholarship Committee and Parking Credentials Certification Committee. Outside of the parking industry, Matthew also serves on a few Boards of Non-Profit organizations. He holds dual degrees from Syracuse University.

Paul Yakutchik

Chief Product Officer

Mr. Yakutchik has a computer science background with over 20 years of systems development experience. Mr. Yakutchik began his career working with IBI Group, recognized as one of the largest transportation, urban planning, engineering, architectural and systems consulting firms in the world.

While at IBI Group, Mr. Yakutchik was responsible for leading development teams and prototyping technologies including AVI/RF vehicle tracking systems at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Working closely with Mark IV (407ETR) led to Federal Government awards for developmental excellence.

Mr. Yakutchik then joined the rental car business with Budget Car Rentals and Discount Car Rentals. While with Park’N Fly, Mr. Yakutchik had a senior development and management role, responsible for cradle-to-grave systems design, development, installation and support. His experience includes networks, communications, architecture, database design and programming. Mr. Yakutchik has been very successful implementing and managing fully functional and extremely stable national systems that have been key to positioning these companies as industry leaders.


Chris Lautenbach

Chief Research and Development Officer

Chris is an industry veteran with nearly 30 years of experience in the software industry. He is the creator of Mini Storage Executive, a management platform for the self-storage industry which includes full accounting, access control and security, automated credit card billing, SMS support and much more. MSE joins Locomobi’s line of excellent software products. His previous enterprise also did contract development for a wide range of industry clients. He also has many years of experience designing and implementing parking systems of all sizes.

Chris is also an accomplished journalist, whose articles about computing have been published across Canada in numerous magazines and newspapers, some of which include; The National Post, Toronto Star, Calgary Herald, Ottawa Citizen, Montreal Gazette, Kingston Whig Standard, Vancouver Province, Windsor Star, MarketNews and Design Engineering and many more.


Pearl Chan

Chief Legal Officer

Pearl brings to ANAi Global extensive experience advising entrepreneurs, startups and established companies in technology, renewable energy, software development and finance, having spent her career in private practice most recently and also previously as general counsel to several Canadian companies in the CPG/retail and energy sectors.

In addition to regularly representing startup companies from formation through all phases of their growth process, Pearl has acted as lead counsel on numerous financing and acquisition transactions, and recently acted for her solar energy client in connection with the establishment of a $50-million multi-tranche term credit facility to finance their construction and long-term operations.

Pearl is licensed to practice law in Ontario and in New York State. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario and her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toronto.

Pearl is mom to a very active one-year old daughter and is fluent in English and Cantonese.


Andrew Czapran

Chief Technology Officer

Andrew Czapran has been providing computer consulting services to the high tech industry for over 20 years. He brings along a wealth of experience in both fortune 500 Enterprise organizations as well as fast growing mid-tier companies. Andrew has contributed to successful implementations of leading edge software solutions, bringing a wide span of both hands on and leadership roles to guide software and architectural objectives.

His entrepreneurial drive had given Andrew the opportunity to assist in high profile customer driven environments where quality and
performance were of the greatest concern.

Andrew holds a vast range of experiences ranging from real-time tracking systems, to large Enterprise class environments. Andrew holds a Honours Degree in Mathematics with a Computer Science Major from the University of Waterloo.

Robert Johnson

Chief Operating Officer

Robert joins LocoMobi as Senior Vice President of Project Management, Design and Implementation from SP+, one of the largest parking and transportation companies in North America where he served as Managing Director and Vice President of Technology Integration. In his role, Robert oversaw the Technology Integration Group on RFP Specification Writing and Review, PARCS Technology Implementation, Remote Management Integration, Camera and Intercom Networking, Garage Layout and Design, Traffic Flow Study, Signage Design and Parking Consulting Services.

Robert’s parking industry career spans almost 25 years, where he has achieved Senior Management verticals in Off-Airport Parking Operations, Bus Transportation, Valet Parking, Claims Management and Urban Parking. He has worked for such notables as The Ritz Carlton, Kinney System, Avistar, Airport Satellite Parking, Parking Company of America, Central Parking and SP+. He has overseen the development and content of company Intranet sites and worked on one of the first off-airport parking aggregator websites,, whose notable clientele were, AAA and Continental Airlines.

Prior to parking, Robert began his career in Property Management with Complete Management and Hines. Robert left Harvard University where he majored in Government to work on the Democratic Presidential Campaigns of both Gary Hart and Michael Dukakis.


Martin Lamprecht

Director of Airports Infrastructure

Martin held marketing, sales and management positions in the regional airline industry, beginning in 1984, and was directly involved in the establishment of two regional air carriers. His responsibilities included market research, sales, scheduling, advertising, promotion, public relations and business planning. His aviation consulting business has been active in the airport, airline and aerospace industries.

In 1988, Martin established Canada’s first trade magazine for airline management and managed it as publisher and editor for over four years. From 1994 to 2001 he served as International Editor and Marketing Manager of GSE Today, a US-based trade publication, conference / exhibition and Internet information service for the international aviation ground support industry. In January 2009, Martin acquired Momberger Airport Information, a leading newsletter and information service for the international airport industry since 1973. He had been involved in this international news service for airport professionals for many years prior to the acquisition of the business under his company, Air Trans Source Inc.
